NEBHE PBL Projects Privacy and Terms of Use
Privacy
Overview
Your privacy is important to the New England Board of Higher Education’s (NEBHE) Problem Based Learning (PBL) Projects, and we are committed to respecting that privacy. This statement describes the personal information practices for NEBHE’s PBL Projects website, including what type of information is gathered and tracked, how the information is used, and with whom the information is shared.
Personal Information
In general, you can visit NEBHE’s PBL Projects website without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information about yourself. The PBL Projects team invites attendees of its workshops and presentations to share personal contact information with us to be added to mailing lists and listservs, enabling our team to share information on the PBL Projects with you. We will not make your contact information or any other personally identifiable information available to anyone outside of NEBHE or its service providers (who use the information only for authorized NEBHE purposes) unless we are legally required to do so. Sharing personal information with NEBHE’s PBL Projects is voluntary, and individuals can request to be removed from our mailing lists and listservs at any time by contacting pbl.projects@nebhe.org.
In addition to the above, we collect certain anonymous (non-personally identifiable) and non-anonymous information to help us improve the PBL Projects materials and to conduct research on the PBL Projects efficacy. We collect information you provide about your use of and satisfaction with the PBL Projects through email you send us, and through paper and electronic surveys, whether or not you voluntarily include your contact information. In many cases, personal information is voluntarily provided to assist our team with its efficacy research.
Aggregate Data and Analytics
We may use web analysis tools that are built into the PBL Projects website to measure and collect anonymous session information from visits to the PBL Projects website to help us provide better customer service and a better customer experience, but we do so in ways that keep user’s personal identity and information anonymous. NEBHE or the analytic vendors it selects may use this data to analyze site usage trends and statistics, to help us improve our site.
When we report information about PBL Projects access, use, and impact, we report aggregate, non-personally identifiable data. Occasionally, we report quoted feedback from users. We do not attribute feedback to specific individuals unless we obtain permission to use that person’s name along with the feedback. Similarly, we do not use photos or videos of individuals unless we have permission to use that person’s image, regardless of whether we include that person’s name. Names of individuals and institutions will be listed if desired. To include your name or institution in a photo or video in which it is currently unlisted, please contact pbl.projects@nebhe.org.
Information Gathered through Cookies and Other Technologies
In general, you can use NEBHE’s PBL Projects website in all ways without using the technology known as “cookies.” A cookie is a short identifier, stored on your computer, that a site may use to identify you when you make return visits to it. The features of the NEBHE website were designed to work without cookies, so if you turn them off, you may still browse, search, and order publications at our site.
