PBL in the Community

An environmental science instructor at Stonehill College in North Easton, Mass., worked with social science faculty members and their students to develop a learning community focused on human environmental impact on local communities.

Students and their instructors visited the Florida Everglades after working on the STEM PBL Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association Challenge and presented their findings and solutions to their peers in showcase format (images 1 and 2), and worked within their home institution’s community to recommend solutions to local stormwater problems as part of solving the STEM PBL Tookany/Takony Frankford Watershed Partnership Challenge (images 4 – 6).
